01 · Introduction

IT education
that fits the routine.

ESR, the educational arm of RNP, faced usability, performance and aesthetic challenges on its course platform.

As part of the redesign squad, I worked with a multidisciplinary team to serve the needs of students, managers and IT professionals, modernising the experience without losing the brand's technical heritage.

02 · Challenge

What was blocking
the experience.

Complex flows

Confusing enrolment and access methods, with a poorly structured hierarchy.

Performance & usability

Slowness in critical areas and outdated design.

Lack of transparency

Information about courses and enrolment tracks was not clear.

Visual modernisation

Dated layout, with duplicated buttons and repeated information.

03 · Goals

Three fronts,
one clear direction.

01

Performance & accessibility

Optimise ESR's performance and accessibility — perceived speed, contrast, keyboard navigation, screen readers.

02

Identity & services

Align design and identity with ESR's terms and services — a technical brand that finally recognises itself visually.

03

Critical flows

Simplify flows like enrolment, course search and class management — fewer clicks, less doubt, more conversion.

04 · Process

Design Thinking,
five stages.

A human-centred, iterative process — empathy, creative problem solving and prototyping, aimed at creating solutions that resonate with users' needs and preferences.

05 · Personas

Three profiles,
three routines.

Clara Martins

Clara Martins

Biologist

Age26 years old
OccupationStudent
LocationCampinas — SP

Pain point

There are dense networking courses and only intermediate material on planning, financial management and time management.

Goal

Find courses on management and administration that fit her routine, with a search that is fast and easy to keep up with.

About Clara

Clara needs clear, organised information on a platform that values her experience without complications. She appreciates an objective interface that adapts to her learning pace.

Carlos Lima

Carlos Lima

IT Coordinator

Age40 years old
OccupationManager
LocationRio de Janeiro — RJ

Pain point

The current platform is confusing when it comes to serving and offering the specific actions he expects, both in requests and in the advanced IT course listings.

Goal

Locate advanced, up-to-date courses focused on his field and on management, directly and guided by market area.

About Carlos

Carlos needs an intuitive, legible platform, ideal for getting clear information and up-to-date courses aligned with what IT professionals actually do.

Júlia Ferreira

Júlia Ferreira

BSc in IT

Age30 years old
OccupationManager
LocationRio de Janeiro — RJ

Pain point

Inconsistencies in the system add friction when looking for information, and an interface that teaches little becomes limiting.

Goal

Reach the content and move straight through the sequence of courses, with a search that respects her pace.

About Júlia

Júlia is direct and wants a simple, modern platform with a clean interface that respects ESR's heritage.

“Finding courses became more intuitive and faster.”

06 · Prototype

Clean design,
technical feel.

More breathing room, clear visual hierarchy, a simplified enrolment flow — and an identity that finally speaks to IT professionals.

The old catalogue: confusing hierarchy, hidden filters. In the redesign: a navy header with persistent search, filters by track, career and format, and a consistent card grid.

Course page before: scattered information, timid CTA, focus on side content. After: a block of comparable classes, prominent pricing and a single CTA, "Request a proposal".

07 · Testing

Validation with
real users.

We ran moderated tests with participants representing the three personas, focused on how well the critical flows were understood. 76% of users completed search and pre-enrolment without support. Direct feedback was crucial for the final refinements before delivery.

09 · Conclusion

More than a
visual redesign.

Taken together, the ESR website redesign delivered on strategic commitments to transparency, modernity and usability. Simplifying the enrolment flows and refreshing the visual identity set a solid base for future iterations, ensuring ESR not only meets but anticipates expectations in technical education.
